FAQ

I have insurance cover, are you recommended by insurance companies?
Yes we are, and we can deal direct with over 90% of them on line.

Do I have to call my insurance company to inform them?
No, just call us and we will do the rest for you. No claim forms for you to fill in.

I am not insured for glass, do you have any type of discount for me?
Yes we do. Just tell us you have no glass insurance, and we will quote you a “special net price” with no hidden extras. What we quote you is what you pay.

Do you offer a mobile service to my home or place of work?
Yes we do, and in most cases it’s free of charge. We also have a fully equipped workshop with a seated waiting area. Tea and coffee and Wi-Fi are available, all free of charge.

How can I pay?
You can pay by cash, BACS, internet bank transfer, debit card or credit card, we except all major cards including American Express. (No extra charge for Credit Card payments). Cheques are only accepted by prior arrangement.

Can my windscreen be repaired?
It just depends on the type of damage, if we can repair we will always advise you that it’s possible.

How long have you been established?
We have been established 35 years, with three generations of the same family.

What guarantee do you give?
All workmanship/materials and the glass are guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months. Damage to the glass from impact or stress cracking (from pot holes) is excluded.

Why use a local independent company?
We listen to you! You are the customer after all. We are flexible and will do all we can to fit with your plans. We answer the phone personally, no national call centre (often abroad), no press 1 for this and 2 for that, and no answer machine.

What about the quality of the glass you use?
All glass and products used conform to the latest UK British Standard and EU law, and are of the highest quality that is available.

My rear view mirror is attached to the glass, will you refit it?
Yes, the new windscreen has the metal ‘boss’ fitting attached at the factory, we then attach your mirror to it.

My windscreen has auto wiper/auto headlight as standard, is that a problem for you?
No, the sensor is attached to the windscreen by a bracket that is attached at the factory, we just swap them over on to the new glass. It’s the same if the car has a camera that can recognise road signs or lane deviation.

My windscreen has started leaking? What can be done to stop it.
This has many answers, we need to see the car at our workshop in Seaford to assess, please telephone to make an appointment.

Do you repair sunroofs?
We only replace the glass panels, we do not repair leaks, sorry.

Do you replace windows other than windscreens?
Yes we do. Door glasses, heated rear windows, Q/lights and sunroof panels, are all part of the replacement service we offer.

I want to fit side windows in a van?
Then you have come to the right place, we have been doing van conversions for over 30 years. Please check on the main page of the web site for the heading “services” and chose “van window conversion” for more information and photos.

The windscreen is part of the structural strength of the car, what happens when you change it?
We remove the old windscreen with specialist tools, these do not damage the paint work. The new windscreen and bodywork of the car receive a coating of a specialist activator; this is a catalyst for a sealant called ‘polyurethane’. It is very important that the glass is not contaminated at this point. This is the same product that is used in your car’s production. After the glass has been installed, a number of safety checks take place to insure that the integral strength is in place, so the car can be returned to you, just the same as it left the factory.
